Woody Herman Award

Woody HermanThe Woody Herman Award honors jazz students for contributions to the jazz program. Woody Herman (1913-1987) was a jazz clarinetist, saxophonist, singer, and Big Band leader, forming the Woody Herman Orchestra in 1936. Its lively, swinging arrrangements combining bop themes with swing rhythm parts were greatly admired.

We are proud of our past winners of the Woody Herman Award.
