Picnic Pops Volunteer Opportunities

Picnic PopsPicnic Pops – a wonderful family event showcasing music performed by our talented kids – will be held on Saturday, May 21, 2016 (rain or shine!) at Pioneer High School from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The schedule of performances is here.

Each high school family is asked to contribute three hours of volunteer time, split between adults and students. If a family donates a baked-good to the Cake Walk, it counts as one volunteer hour. We need help with ticket sales and volunteer coordination, cooking and serving food, and running the cakewalk and all carnival games.

We ask that you select your family effort contribution as soon as possible. Please sign up for Ann Arbor Picnic Pops! Here's how it works in 3 easy steps:

  1. Click this link to go to the invitation page on VolunteerSpot:
  2. Enter your email address (You will not need to register an account on VolunteerSpot)
  3. Sign up! Choose your spots — VolunteerSpot will send you an automated confirmation and reminders. Easy!

Note: VolunteerSpot does not share your email address with anyone. However, if you prefer not to use your email address, please contact Teri or Gordon Schott and we can sign you up manually.

Additionally, every year we need donations of 2-liter pop bottles, stuffed animals, and baked goods. Here's how it works this year.

POP DONATIONS: Every student is required to donate two 2-liter bottles of name brand pop for the ring toss game. You must either bring those to the Pioneer band room by 3:00 p.m. on Friday, or bring them to Picnic Pops on Saturday, Either bring these to the Pioneer Band room by 3:00 p.m. on Friday, or bring them to Picnic Pops on Saturday and drop them off at the Ring Toss game (Just look for the balloons).

CAKE WALK: We need donations of cakes, cupcakes, cookies, brownies, or muffins for the cake walk. One donation of this item will count toward one hour of your family’s three-hour volunteer commitment. Please bring your baked good item(s) on disposable plates or pans, wrapped, to the Cake Walk area. (Please sign in when you drop off your baked good donation so Mr. Leach can give you credit.)

SET UP/CLEAN UP: Volunteers are especially needed to work on setup in the early morning and to help break down and clean up at the end. Please consider joining us for these time slots – you will have a clear schedule to hear all of the bands!

Picnic Pops is possible only through the generosity of parents AND high school students who volunteer their time to supervise games, serve food, sell tickets, etc. We hope that you and your children will volunteer time to make this a successful and enjoyable event.

Thank you for volunteering!!!
