PBA / PTO Thrift Shop Liaison

PTO Thrift ShopThe PBA PTO Thrift Shop Liaison person communicates information about the PTO Thrift Shop as needed to the members of the Pioneer Band Association. The PBA Thrift Shop Liaison should be someone who volunteers at the Thrift Shop several times a month, in order to stay current with the latest PTO Thrift Shop news and developments! S/he also should attend PBA meetings to impart information to the Band membership and to encourage them to volunteer at the Thrift Shop. The PBA Thrift Shop liaison also communicates with Band members by writing articles for the PBA newsletter and, for in-between-newsletter times, by e-mailing information to the PBA President and asking him/her to forward it to the Band families e-mail list. The PBA PTO Thrift Shop liaison does not attend PTO Thrift Shop organizational meetings, because the Pioneer PTO Thrift Shop representative (who represents all the organizations at Pioneer High School which work for the PTO Thrift Shop) attends those.

At PTO Thrift Shop pay-out time, generally the end of February of each year, the PBA Thrift Shop liaison is wise to go to the Thrift Shop and make copies of the Band sign-in sheets that will be forwarded to the Pioneer PTO Thrift Shop representative. If you don't get copies made, that is OK, because soon you will receive copies of those sheets from the Pioneer PTO Thrift Shop representative. But if you get them ahead of time, you can start tabulating the hours for each Band member/parent who has worked. When you do get all the hours tabulated, make a copy for yourself for later reference, and in case there are questions several months later. You turn in the individual tabulations to the PBA President, who, with the PBA Treasurer, determines how much money each band member will either have applied toward their trip/band camp cost, or be reimbursed (if the band member has already paid for their band camp/band trip).
